Rain Rain go away. Come again another day.
It has been raining here for DAYS. We practically need a boat to get out of the house.
So for all of you stuck inside on rainy days with the kids, here are some great indoor activities to keep you busy:
- Play hide & seek
- Build a blanket fort
- Have a photo shoot
- Build paper airplanes
- Find things that start with every letter of the alphabet
- Do a special art project with mom
- Write a letter to your grandparents
- Water a movie & have popcorn
- Make sock puppets and put on a puppet show
- Make music with homemade instruments
- Have a parade
- Make homemade play-doh
- Play a board game
- Have a talent show
- Draw and color a map of your neighborhood
- Make pasta or cereal jewelry (Cheerios, Fruit Loops)
- Dance to your favorite song
- Make an I-Spy bottle
- Draw a picture blindfolded
- Exercise
- Have an indoor beach party
- Make indoor s'mores.
- Put on a play
- Make homemade ice cream
- Color in a coloring book
- Read for at least 30 min.
- Interview a family member
- Do a chore to help mom
- Invite a friend come over
- Bake cookies with mom
- Have an indoor picnic with your stuffed animals
- Plan dinner and help mom prepare it
- Play dress up
- Do a puzzle
Hi Linda, those are such great ideas. We had 4 snow days in the span of a week not long ago, and even though my kids are older (11, 13, and 16, with another in college) many of the ideas still apply. Have a great weekend!
