Knit Flower Hair Clips

I used the fabric left over from Sophie's onesie to bubble dress conversion to make these cute knit flowers. I used this tutorial from Emily's Little World.

I made my own templates for the flowers and used 2 difference sizes. You can download my template HERE

To turn them into hair accessories I cut a circular shaped piece of felt and hot glued it to the back. Then hot glued an alligator clip on.

Wondering what that white stuff is under the alligator clip for the pink flower? I've found that shelf liner is great for keeping hair bows from sliding out of fine baby hair.  You can hot glue that on too, but place a piece of wax paper between the strip of shelf liner and the top of the alligator clip while it drys so that it doesn't get glued shut. Just a neat tip to remember!

Onesie to Bubble Dress Refashion

Sophie has outgrown some old onesies that still had some life in them. When I saw the Turn a Onesie into a Bubble Dress tutorial at Make It & Love It I knew it would be the perfect
project to get more wear out of them. This is what I created:

It was very easy to do. Simply cut off the bottom of the onesie, gather a folded piece of knit fabric (the folding eliminates the need to hem!) and sew it on to the bottom of the onesie. Go HERE for all the details.

Makes a great swimsuit cover up too!

Check back later this week where I'll show you how to make these coordinating knit flowers hair accessories from the left over fabric!

Handprint Birthday Card

We wanted to make a special card for Sophie's Granddaddy's birthday. When I saw this adorable handprint birthday card craft at Meet the Dubiens I knew it would be a keepsake he would treasure. Here's what you'll need to make one yourself!

Supplies:
cardstock
paint
paintbrush
glue
glitter
Directions:
1. Paint the palm of your child's hand one color.

2. Paint each finger except for the thumb a different color.
3. Stamp your child's hand on the paper and let dry. (Warning: This is not easy with a 2 year old - Notice the swigly green finger!)
4. Make an icing design with the glue and sprinkle glitter on top. Let dry.

6. Paint candle flames with a paintbrush.

Granddaddy loved his card!

And Sophie loved showing him how she stamped her hand.
